Woman found dead along Ocmulgee was Dempsey Apartments resident

The woman found dead Sunday along the Ocmulgee River was a 25-year-old who lived at the Dempsey Apartments in downtown Macon.

Authorities are still trying to determine what caused Arielle Meadows Carroll's death. They don't yet know if foul play was to blame, Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said Thursday.

Carroll's body was found beneath the Second Street bridge along the Ocmulgee River.

Jones said simply that "good police work" led to the woman's identity.
