Fundraiser helping injured Macon-Bibb firefighter, father
A fundraiser to help a Macon-Bibb County firefighter and his father is in full swing.
Kyle Livingston was injured on his way to work in March when the pickup he was driving crashed on Eisenhower Parkway.
Weeks later, he was taken to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta for treatment. While Livingston was still there, his father, Ronnie, had a stroke.
Now, a family friend, Danny Outlaw, is trying to raise money from the sale of sugar hams and smoked Boston butts to help with the men's medical costs. Kyle Livingston has extensive paralysis, and both men are in wheelchairs.
"I just saw what they went through and thought, 'My God, what else can happen to this family?'" Outlaw said Thursday.
Outlaw is taking orders for hams and butts for $40 each. All proceeds benefit the Livingstons.
To place an order, call 478-719-0824 by Dec. 18. Leave your full name and a phone number. Businesses that donate $100 get a free ham or butt.
Checks should be mailed to Outlaw at 5558 Rivoli Drive in Macon, 31210, or payments can be made at the time of pickup, which runs from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 20 at the Rivoli Drive address.
