Miss America Betty Cantrell will sing the national anthem at Mercer University's football game against Samford on Saturday.

Cantrell, who is from Warner Robins, pursued a degree in voice in Mercer's Townsend School of Music before putting her studies on hold to focus on the Miss Georgia and Miss America competitions, according to a news release.

She will perform shortly before the Bears' 3 p.m. kickoff at Five Star Stadium in Macon.

Tickets for the football game may be purchased online at http://tickets.mercer.edu.
