Frost possible this weekend from Macon to north Georgia
Temperatures will be dropping into the 30s early Saturday and Sunday bringing the threat of frost as far south as Macon and Warner Robins.
The mercury is expected to plunge down to near 36 degrees Saturday in Macon and near the freezing mark up in extreme northeast Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.
Freeze watches and warnings are posted in the higher elevations of north Georgia.
Freezing temperatures are possible through Saturday morning in the counties of Bartow, Catoosa, Chattooga, Cherokee, Dade, Dawson, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray, Pickens, Towns, Union, Walker, White and Whitfield.
Although Warner Robins is expected to bottom out at about 38 degrees Saturday, there is a greater threat for frost after 4 a.m. Sunday when the morning low is expected to drop to 34 in Macon and 35 in Warner Robins.
