Fourth annual Georgia Gives Day is Thursday
A 24-hour window of online charitable giving to nonprofits statewide begins Thursday with the fourth annual Georgia Gives Day.
Organized by the Georgia Center for Nonprofits, the flash fundraiser will drive awareness and donations for more than 2,000 nonprofits in the state, according to a news release from the center. Causes represent the full scope of nonprofits from education, the environment, youth development, health care and more.
Since 2012, Georgia Gives Day has garnered nearly 41,000 donations and raised more than $5.2 million, according to a news release. Georgia Gives Day 2015 will again feature extra prizes and competitions for nonprofits receiving the most donations overall and those that receive the most donors during a specified time frame.
Online donations to nonprofits can be made at www.GAgivesday.org beginning at 12:01 a.m. Thursday.
