Macon native shooting movie scenes all over town
Tim Hall returned to his hometown to film a movie, and Macon has welcomed him with open arms.
The 2007 First Presbyterian Day School graduate is shooting his second film, "Born River Bye," in various locations around town, and filming has gone smoothly so far.
"It's been great," he said Thursday.
The crew of about 15 people has already shot scenes at homes, the old Starcadia property off Bass Road, Coleman Hill and Blair's Furniture, and they are scheduled to set up shop at the dentistry office of his father, Bill Hall, on Friday.
Producer Star Lee, a native of Mobile, Alabama, said she's grateful to Middle Georgians who have been opening their doors to the production.
"Everyone has been so nice and helpful," she said.
At Blair's Furniture on Third Street, Diana Blair was among those willing to host a few scenes. The crew took over parts of the multifloor store Thursday, and Blair said the "relatively quiet" morning was ideal for such activity.
"So we're glad to have Tim Hall, a local person, filming in downtown Macon," she said.
Hall also got help from volunteers Brandon Clausen, Alex Newberry and Noelle Spangler. Like Hall, Clausen graduated from FPD and said the film was good experience for his plans after college. He attends Middle Georgia State University but intends to transfer to Central Georgia Technical College.
"This is what I'm wanting to do careerwise, so it's a real good opportunity," he said.
Hall will be filming in Macon for the next two weeks, and he still needs extras for scenes set at Billy's Clubhouse on Forest Hill Road on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. He also said the crew is still seeking at least one other location.
"We're actually on the lookout for a preschool for next Wednesday," Hall said, noting that any preschool-type classroom setting would work.
