The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for the counties shaded in green.
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch for the counties shaded in green.

The prospect of 2 to 4 more inches of rain is prompting a Flood Watch

for Central Georgia, North Central Georgia, Northeast Georgia and West Central Georgia

through Monday evening.

The watch includes Bibb, Crawford, Crisp, Dooly, Houston, Jones, Peach,

Macon, Taylor, Sumter and Schley counties in the midstate.

An unusually moist air mass will funnel rain through the state where soils are already

wet from weekend rains.

Trees and power lines could come down as thunderstorms are expected.

A Flood Watch means flooding is possible based on forecasts.

Everyone is urged to monitor conditions in case flood warnings are issued.
