Volunteers will comb the banks of the Ocmulgee River in Macon during Saturday’s “Ocmulgee Alive!” cleanup.
The Macon Water Authority is holding the annual event with NewTown Macon and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful.
Anyone interested in joining the effort should report to Amerson River Park at 8:15 a.m. Saturday to receive an assignment.
Workers should bring heavy duty gloves, tools to pick up trash, insect repellent and cell phones.
All volunteers must sign a liability waiver.
Crews will work in pairs between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
In the event of rain, the cleanup will be postponed until Oct. 17.
