Forsyth man dies in Monroe County crash
A Forsyth man died Thursday in a single-vehicle accident.
James Monroe Brookshire, 66, was pronounced dead on the scene about 3:30 p.m. after being ejected from his green Chevy pickup. He had been traveling south on Unionville Road from High Falls Road in Monroe County when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.
His wife, Nina Brookshire, was trapped in the vehicle but was extracted and taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon where she was responsive.
A cause for this accident, which is still under investigation, was still unknown Thursday evening.
