EPD hosting Forsyth Q&A on Ga. Power Plant Scherer air quality permit

The public is invited to ask questions about Georgia Power’s application to modify its air quality operating permit at Plant Scherer.

The Environmental Protection Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources will host a question and answer session October 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Roberts Chapel at the Georgia Department of Corrections Tift College Campus at 300 Patrol Road.

Georgia Power wants to replace the low-pressure section of the turbine unit for unit SG02 with a new, more efficient design.

The EPD plans to schedule a future public meeting to receive formal comments regarding the proposed modification.
