Eastman man dies in Dodge County accident

A 59-year-old Eastman man died Sunday evening after crashing his SUV on a dirt road in Dodge County.

Don Coleman lost control of the vehicle and overturned on Jim Pruitt Road, just after leaving the paved portion of the road, said Dodge County Coroner Joe Smith.

Coleman was pronounced dead just after 5:30 p.m. at the scene of the accident, which happened at about 4:50 p.m., Smith said.

Coleman’s passenger was hurt and was taken to the hospital.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
