Dublin VA holding welcome home ceremony for Vietnam vets Saturday
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin will hold a homecoming for Vietnam veterans Saturday.
The event is from 2-4 p.m. in the center’s auditorium. It is part of the ongoing 50th anniversary commemoration of the war.
The event will include a program followed by a social. Speakers include Yung Krall, a Vietnam native who was a spy during the war, and Cary Young, a decorated Vietnam veteran.
“The Vietnam War occurred during a tumultuous time in our country which resulted in many of our Vietnam War service members not receiving the welcome home that they deserved,” Dean Swan, co-chairman of the event, said in a news release.
The Dublin VA is a partner in the national Vietnam War 50th Anniversary Commemoration and will be sponsoring events during the next two years.
