Macon man in wheelchair hit by car on Jeffersonville Road
A Macon man in a wheelchair was hit by a car in the 1800 block of Jeffersonville Road at around 8:45 p.m. Wedenesday.
The driver, a 30-year-old Macon man, approached the intersection of Jeffersonville Road and Roseview Drive when he noticed 37-year-old Anthony Harris in the middle of his lane of travel, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision but struck Harris with the driver’s side front fender of the vehicle, the release said.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the incident.
Harris was transported to a local hospital, by ambulance, where he is listed to be in stable condition.
The Center for Collaborative Journalism interviewed Anthony Harris earlier this year for a project on pedestrian safety.
