Three Middle Georgia animal shelters and animal rescue organizations will be awarded with dog and cat sterilization grants, according to a new release.
The state Department of Agriculture announced that the Warner Robins Animal Shelter, Macon-Bibb County Animal Welfare and Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society in Toombs County will each receive $3,000. The shelters will be formally awarded Wednesday at a ceremony at Macon State Farmers Market. The Department of Agriculture is awarding $200,500 to 41 organizations to assist with spay and neutering services.
The event will be held at 2:30 p.m. at 2055 Eisenhower Parkway in Macon.
