Macon’s Amerson River Park will be open Labor Day
Middle Georgians have a new option for Labor Day fun.
Amerson Water Park will be open Monday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
“This is a great chance for people to show visiting family members and friends what Macon-Bibb County has to offer, and what we’re doing to improve the quality of life here,” Stephen Lawson, Parks and Beautification Director, stated in a news release.
The park reopened in May following a $5.5 million improvement project that completed 3.5 miles of paved trails, built new bathrooms and a canoe takeout spot near an overlook pavilion.
“With it being a holiday weekend, we want people to bring their friends and family out and enjoy the amenities available, including the playground, walking trails, fields, pavilions, and, of course, the Ocmulgee River,” Lawson said.
The park is normally closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
