The latest forecasts for Tropical Storm Erika show Middle Georgia could see potentially serious weather conditions from the storm.

Friday’s 11 a.m. Advisory shows the storm impacting the Macon area by about 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Although the forecast track and the storm’s strength could change, flooding is the primary concern for southern and central parts of Georgia, according to the National Weather Service.

The current track, which will be updated at about 5 p.m. Friday, shows the storm reaching the Miami area early Monday and heading north through Florida before hitting the Georgia border.

Middle Georgians are encouraged to continually monitor tropical forecasts for new developments.
