Pedestrian dies in car crash on Gray Highway in Macon, deputies say
A pedestrian died after being hit by a car on Gray Highway in Macon Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies are investigating the 36-year-old man’s death, which occurred near the intersection of Boulevard on Gray Highway just before 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to the news release.
“It was reported that a 20-year-old male driver of a gray Nissan struck (the) pedestrian who was crossing the roadway, wearing dark clothing,” BCSO said.
The man was unresponsive when deputies responded to the scene. He was transported to a local hospital by an ambulance, but later died of his injuries, according to BCSO.
He has not been identified as of publication. The pedestrian’s name will be released once the next of kin has been notified, BCSO said.
This crash is under investigation. Deputies said additional information will be released when it becomes available.
