Man dies after car hits him on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon, deputies say

A man died after being hit by a car on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon on Tuesday morning, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was called into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center on Tuesday before 4 a.m. The driver of a silver Kia Soul struck a 36-year-old “male pedestrian that was crossing (Pio Nono Avenue at the intersection of Glendale Avenue), wearing dark clothing,” the news release said.

The pedestrian was unresponsive when deputies arrived at the scene. Paramedics treated him, but he died, according to the news release. The pedestrian’s name has not been identified as of publication.

No charges have been filed.

The incident is under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
