Deputies arrested 18-year-old boy at Macon’s Ingram Pye Elementary. Here’s why
Deputies arrested an 18-year-old who allegedly stole someone’s bike at gunpoint, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office on Friday.
Timothy Josiah Black allegedly brandished a firearm and took the victim’s mountain bike on Second Street near the intersection of Ash Street at 1:30 p.m, according to the news release. He then fled.
Deputies said they spotted Black, who dropped his bike and ran off. The pursuit went through Ingram Pye Elementary, which initiated a temporary lockdown until the suspect was apprehended, according to the news release. Black was allegedly armed, but he discarded his gun when arrested.
The lockdown was lifted shortly thereafter, the news release said.
Deputies retrieved the gun, discovering that it had been stolen, according to the news release. The bicycle was returned to its owner. No one was injured.
Black was taken to the Bibb County Jail. He’s being held without bond. He’s charged with theft by receiving stolen property and armed robbery, deputies said.
