Woman, 53, dies in single-vehicle crash on Harrison Road in Macon

A woman Sunday died after colliding with a power pole on Harrison Road in Macon, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Dispatchers received a call regarding a crash just before 12 p.m. Sunday. The caller reported that “a single vehicle drove off the roadway and collided with a power pole on Harrison Road,” according to the news release.

The driver, identified as Cheryl McNeal, 53, died as a result of the collision. Coroner Leon Jones pronounced McNeal dead on the scene, and the next of kin was notified.
