Man wanted in connection with Florida homicide arrested in Monroe County
A man wanted in connection to a Florida murder investigation was arrested in Monroe County Wednesday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office alerted Monroe County that they believed the man, Roemal Lamar Charles, would be passing through Monroe County. The Marion County agency had been tracking him through the rental car he was driving, said Anna Greene Watkins, public information officer with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office arrested him as he was traveling on I-75 just before 3 a.m. Tuesday . He is being held in the Monroe County Jail while he awaits extradition to Florida, Watkins said.
Watkins did not have information available at this time on what charges Charles will face.
