Freezing weather headed back to Macon soon. What about snow? Here’s the latest forecast

Warmer weather has been making it feel like spring in Macon lately. Near record highs are expected over the next few days, with temperatures reaching 15-25 degrees above normal for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service.

Daily record highs in Macon are around 82-83 degrees and on Friday and Saturday, Macon could potentially shatter those records. Right now, highs are looking to be around 80, but NWS experts said some temperatures could “tie or exceed” the past.

However, the pleasant spring-like weather is ending quicker than expected and turning to freezing temperatures yet again. Here’s what to know:

Are freezing temperatures coming through Macon again?

Yes, another round of freezing temperatures are on their way next week.

The National Weather Service forecast shows the cold weather returning Sunday night with lows around 30 degrees. On Monday, the high is expected to be around 49 and a low of 26 that night. Tuesday and Tuesday night seem to round out the cold temperatures with a high of 54 and low of 31. Lastly, on Wednesday, the warmer weather comes back with highs around 62. There’s no chance of snow in the forecast.

AccuWeather forecasts show much of the same. Here’s what the daily temperatures look like:

  • Sunday night, lows are expected to be around 32
  • Highs on Monday will be around 50 and lows around 30
  • On Tuesday, there’s a high of 55 and a low of 31
  • On Wednesday, the highs rise up to 64 and lows around 43
