‘Vintage-style’ coffee shop now open in Macon. Here’s where, what makes it special
If you’re anything like me, you’ll never pass up a great cup of coffee. I’ll also never pass by a new coffee shop and not go in.
And trust me when I say, this new Bolingbroke coffee shop is not like any other you’ve seen.
I grew up in the Juliette, Georgia area and Bolingbroke was always a pass through for my family, only stopping in the area for gas if you needed it. However, recently that’s all changed.
We’ve had Bolingbroke favorites around for a while, like Henry’s, Blanche Farms and Watson’s Mercantile. But when other small businesses started opening, this little area now is more than just a fuel stop. Now, we have more shops, a Mexican restaurant, country store and a southern restaurant inspired by the railroad that runs through Bolingbroke.
The once desolate space is now a vibrant, warm community.
And Bolingbroke’s new coffee shop only adds to the charm.
The shop, called Bolingbrew Coffee Company, is located at 6183 Highway 41 in Macon and is inside the Bolingbroke Antiques & Mercantile store. The shop opened late Nov. 2025 and is owned by the same owners of the Antique store, Michael Bradshaw and his wife, Laurie.
But why open a coffee shop inside an antique store?
“The idea came from a desire to create a community destination rather than just a place to shop. Adding a coffee shop felt like a natural extension of that vision, bringing people together in a relaxed and welcoming environment,” Michael said.
From the shop’s whimsical decor, warm colors and wood furniture, relaxing and welcoming feel like understatements. Plus, the space is decorated for Christmas, complete with a beautiful tree and string lights, making the shop the ultimate, cozy corner.
Bradshaw explained the coffee shop addition is “a one-of-a-kind experience,” where “guests can enjoy a handcrafted coffee drink while browsing antiques, vintage finds, and local vendor booths.” From locals that need a morning pick-me-up to a family needing a place to stretch their legs during a road trip, this shop is going to be the place to be.
And if you are wondering about the coffee itself, Bolingbrew has some of the best tasting around (trust me, I had a latte last week). Bradshaw shared that the shop’s coffee is provided by a Georgia-grown roaster called Woodlands Coffee Roasters in Kathleen.
On the menu are iced or hot classics like drip coffee, an americano and latte. Guests can add flavors such as caramel, mocha, vanilla, white chocolate and more or enjoy a peppermint, green or chai tea.
But the handcrafted drinks don’t stop at coffee and tea. Bolingbrew also offers “Bolingbrizz,” which is a “refreshing blend of sparkling water and fresh fruit flavors.” Mix your bubbly water with a spritz of lemon, blue raspberry, watermelon, coconut, mango, pineapple, strawberry, peach or cherry.
Candy bars, peanuts and other baked goods are available at the shop’s counter, but more is coming.
“We are looking forward to adding seasonal drinks and goodies to our menu,” Laurie said.
Laurie also explained that the coffee shop will be used for after hours events of their own and the space will be available for others to host parties, meetings and activities.
Check out Bolingbrew Coffee Company, open Monday-Saturday (closed on Sunday), where you “come for the coffee and stay for the charm.”
