Christmas giveaways, toy drives are kicking off soon in Macon. Where to find them

The holidays are quickly approaching, and local organizations in Middle Georgia are aiming to help families in need.

Various community centers, churches and other groups are collecting toy donations and prepping to host toy drives this month to ensure as many kids as possible have a special holiday.

Here’s where you can find them:

Bibb County

BCSO Candyland Christmas

  • When: Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Where: Bibb County Sheriff’s Outreach & Restorative Justice Center located at 774 Hazel St.
  • What: The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Section will host a free holiday event for children ages 4-14 and who are residents of Bibb County. Free books, bikes and toys will be distributed while supplies last. Children must be accompanied by an adult to receive a gift. Contact the sheriff’s office for more information.

Community Food Bag Giveaway

  • When: Dec. 12 at noon (while supplies last)
  • Where: 1755 Jeffersonville Road
  • What: The Ekklesia Christian Worship Center and the Walking in Grace Fellowship Church are hosting a food drive for the Macon community. Contact either organizations for more information.

2025 Toy Giveaway

  • When: Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
  • Where: Total Praise Church at 2010 Fifth St.
  • What: Total Praise Church will be giving away toys to the community. Children must be accompanied by an adult to receive a gift, event organizers said. Reach out to the church for more information and registration.

L.H. Williams Recreation Center Annual Holiday Party

  • When: Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Where: L.H. Williams Recreation Center at 325 Pursley St.
  • What: Macon-Bibb County Recreation is hosting an annual holiday party and toy drive, featuring themed games, bike and gift card raffles and toy distribution. Children of all ages are welcomed, but must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, contact the center at (478) 751-7036.

Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Tree Giveaway

  • When: Dec 13. from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Where: Rosa Jackson Center at 1211 Maynard St.
  • What: Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful, in partnership with Keep Warner Robins Beautiful, will distribute free trees to support tree equity in underserved communities. Attendees will receive a free bag of mulch with each tree and can learn about tree care from local arborist Edward Morrow. For more information, call 478-330-7054.

Manna Ministry Food Giveaway

  • When: Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon (or until supplies last)
  • Where: New Piney Grove Baptist Church at 258 Straight St.
  • What: Attendees can drive up to the New Piney Grove Baptist Church to receive a box of food. No registration is needed. Contact the church for more information.

Annual Leon Jones Christmas Bike Giveaway

  • When: Dec. 20, starting at 8 a.m.
  • Where: Bentley and Son’s Funeral Home on Montpelier Avenue
  • What: Macon-Bibb Coroner Leon Jones will host his annual bicycle giveaway. Call-ins to 99.5 FM will begin at 8 a.m., and selected winners will receive a free bicycle, which can be picked up at the funeral home location.

St. James AME Church Christmas Ham Giveaway

  • When: Dec. 20, starting at 11 a.m.
  • Where: 4416 Bloomfield Road
  • What: The St. James AME Church is partnering with Lots of Love Community Enrichment Program will host a community event in aims to fight food insecurity during the holidays. One ham per family will be distributed.

Angel Mercy Helping Hands Ministry Annual Toy Drive

  • When: Dec. 20 at 1 p.m.
  • Where: 3020 Napier Ave.
  • What: True Fellowship Full Gospel Ministry will host its annual toy drive and food drive outreach. Attendees must remain in their vehicles for the drive through experience.

Juicy Crab Holiday Food and Toy Drive

  • When: Dec. 23, at 2 p.m.
  • Where: 168 Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard
  • What: Juicy Crab in Macon will host its first annual Christmas event. The eatery is asking for donations of non-perishable food items and new or gently used toys until December 22. The first 50 families to arrive at the location will receive a fully stocked holiday basket.

Houston County

Houston County School District Holiday Give and Go

  • When: Dec. 19, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Where: Bonaire Middle School, Langston Road Primary School and Northside Elementary School
  • What: The Houston County School Nutrition department has been approved to provide free snack kits for children ages 18 and under during winter break. Each kit includes a variety of shelf-stable, kid-friendly items such as graham crackers, cereals, juice and more. Each site will have 1,000 snack kits available. Distribution will take place in the bus or car rider lanes. Contact the district for more details.

Fellowship Bible Baptist Church Christmas Toy Store

  • When: Dec. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Where: Fellowship Bible Baptist Church at 450 Dunbar Road
  • What: The Fellowship Bible Baptist Church is opening a new toy store offering free gifts to children. This is not a public event, but families can register online to receive a $75 voucher to purchase gifts donated by the community. Registration is open through 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9. Contact the church for more information.

Keep Warner Robins Beautiful Tree Giveaway

  • When: Dec. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Where: GMC Warner Robins Native Plant Center at 115 Prince St.
  • What: Keep Warner Robins Beautiful, in partnership with Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful, will distribute a variety free trees to support tree equity in underserved communities. Attendees will receive a free bag of mulch with each tree and can learn about tree care.
