Top restaurants in Georgia? Find out why people can't get enough of these spots

Seven restaurants in Georgia ranked high on regional and national lists so far this year. Here's which ones:

Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room in Savannah and Mary Mac’s Tea Room in Atlanta made the list of top 15 “bucket list” restaurants to visit in the South, according to Southern Living magazine.

Mrs. Wilkes offers communal dining with rotating Southern dishes. Mary Mac’s stands out for its traditional Southern comfort foods, like chicken and dumplings, and a welcoming atmosphere. Southern Soul Barbeque, a “coastal Georgia smoke joint” on St. Simons Island was also included on the list.

Earlier this year, readers at Southern Living voted The Crab Trap on St. Simons Island the No. 1 seafood dive in the South. Gnat’s Landing, also on St. Simons Island, and The Original Crab Shack on Tybee Island earned spots on the top 10 list of must-visit eateries as well, coming in at No. 8 and No. 9, respectively.

Meanwhile, Wexford in Savannah earned a best restaurant nod from USA Today. The Irish Pub offers traditional dishes with a twist.
