Two Bibb County School District campus police officers and their family will be featured on the game show “Family Feud,” and the community is invited to tune in and cheer them on, school officials said. Sgt. Maurice Bellamy, along with his brothers Capt. Angelo Bellamy, Alonzo Bellamy and Devin Bellamy, and their mother, Patricia Bellamy, who is a crossing guard for the district, will appear as contestants on the popular game show airing at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20, the Bibb County School District said.

The Bellamy family, well known throughout the Macon community, taped the episode late last year, Angelo told The Telegraph. He said the interview for the show happened about a little over two years after his father passed away.

Angelo said the audition and filming took place a little more than two years after the death of his father, a devoted fan of the show.

“He used to always watch Family Feud,” Bellamy said. “So when he passed, my baby brother’s wife signed us up, knowing it was something he loved.”

For the Bellamys, appearing on the show was more than a bucket-list experience — it was a way to honor their father’s legacy and celebrate the tight-knit family values he instilled in them. “With my dad not being here and knowing he would’ve loved to see us doing this with our mom, it meant everything,” Angelo said, after joking about being the boss of his own mother and brother. “We’ve been close our whole lives. My dad always raised us to know that if we didn’t have anyone else, we had each other.”

To celebrate their appearance, a watch party will be held at Southwest High School, where students, staff and community members can gather to support the family, said Southwest Principal Bernard Young.

“This event means a great deal to our Southwest family. We take pride in celebrating every success within our village, and the Bellamy family is truly part of who we are,” Young said in an email. “It feels like our very own family is stepping onto the Family Feud stage, and we couldn’t be more proud to cheer them on.”

Young said the school’s watch party begins at 6 p.m.

The Bibb County School District shared the announcement on social media Monday morning, encouraging everyone to tune in.

Angelo said it was an honor to represent both Macon and the Bibb County School District on national television. He and his brother even wore their police uniforms during the taping, he said. “We appreciate all the support,” Angelo said. “Everybody is so excited to see the show.”

Angelo Bellamy said the show’s producers invited the family to film and play again in January 2027.

“Family Feud,” hosted by Steve Harvey, features two families competing to name the most popular answers to survey questions for a chance to win cash and prizes.
