Macon resident wins nearly $150K in online Georgia Lottery game

A Macon resident was a big lottery winner Wednesday, according to a news release from the Georgia Lottery.

The resident, who was not named, hit a $145,131 jackpot while playing 50X The Money Quick Win on the Georgia Lottery website.

“Quick Win games are instant play, instant win games that share a rolling progressive jackpot and are available at Georgia Lottery retailers and online,” the Georgia Lottery said in a news release.

That six-figure payout was not the biggest lottery win in recent days. A player who purchased a 200X The Money scratch-off ticket in Stockbridge won $4 million, according to the Georgia Lottery.

“The winner claimed their prize on Oct. 14 and they selected the cash option for $2,028,082,” the Georgia Lottery said in a news release. “Last week alone, Georgia Lottery players claimed $41,324,421 in winnings from scratchers.”

All Georgia Lottery games provide funding for education in Georgia, the Georgia Lottery says.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
