Automated speed cameras at Northwoods Academy, Bruce Elementary, James H. Porter Elementary, John R. Lewis Elementary and Martin Luther King Elementary will be used starting Sept. 3, the sheriff’s office said. The cameras will first be used to issue warnings to speeding drivers. But starting Oct. 4, the cameras will begin issuing tickets and “no more warnings will be issued,” the sheriff’s office said.

“Remember, the cameras will only be operational during school hours when the lights are flashing,” the sheriff’s office said.

The drop-off time window for Northwoods, Bruce, James H. Porter, and John R. Lewis are all the same: 7:20 to 9:20 a.m. The drop-off time window for Martin Luther King Elementary is 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.
