Macon shooting leaves 1 person dead, investigators say

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after someone was shot and killed in Macon Sunday.

Deputies were called to a wooded area in the 6000 block of Harrison Road just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office said. Officers who responded found a male suffering from a gunshot wound, the sheriff’s office said.

“Paramedics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a medical facility for treatment of his injury,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley, of the Bibb County Coroner’s Office, said the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as Nelson Reynolds Crenshaw, a 46-year-old man from Fort Valley.
