Macon’s first Restaurant Week serves up exclusive deals, local flair.
Macon Magazine and NewTown Macon are serving up a new culinary tradition, inviting locals and food lovers to dig into the city’s boldest flavors for the inaugural Macon Restaurant Week.
Themed “Fall into Flavor,” the weeklong event running from September 12 to 20 will showcase 17 downtown eateries that are participating in the event, offering exclusive specials at tiered price points ranging from $10 to $50.
Local organizers said the event aims to spotlight the city’s culinary scene and create fun, community-driven experiences.
“Downtown Macon is the culinary heart of Middle Georgia,” said Emily Hopkins, Vice President of External Affairs and Main Street Manager at NewTown Macon. “From fast-casual comfort food to high-end cocktails and seasonal plates, Restaurant Week gives locals and visitors alike a chance to explore the bold flavors and creative talents of our chefs, mixologists, and bakers. We’re proud to showcase downtown as a true dining destination.”
Seventeen restaurants across downtown Macon are participating in the event, offering limited-time dishes and drinks at tiered price points: $10 Steals, $20 Deals, $30 Meals, and $50 Feasts, according to the press release.
Participating restaurants will also compete for two titles: People’s Choice and the winner of the 478 Date Night Challenge, which features creative dining experiences for two priced at $47.80.
Guests are also encouraged to vote for their favorite item to determine the People’s Choice winner.
For a more curated experience, guests can also follow the Restaurant Week Passport, which includes all participating restaurants. Completed passports are eligible for prizes, including a $500 gift card to a downtown restaurant of the winner’s choice.
“This event is all about uplifting Macon’s incredible food scene and creating fun, community-driven experiences,” said Julia Morrison, Managing Editor of Macon Magazine. “We’re thrilled to partner with restaurants and organizations across the city to shine a light on the creativity, culture, and flavor that make Macon’s dining scene truly special.”
