Motorcyclist dead after crash on Macon’s Columbus Road. Deputies investigate

A 23-year-old motorcyclist involved in a traffic collision on Columbus Road Thursday morning has died, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

The collision, near the intersection of Columbus West Drive, was called into the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center at 9 a.m., the sheriff’s office said. A motorist driving a Ford minivan, which was traveling west and turning into a local business, crashed with a motorcycle driven by a 23-year-old man, identified as Joseph Bradley Parham. The accident caused traffic on Columbus Road to be temporarily closed.

Parham was taken to a hospital by ambulance, where he later died, deputies confirmed.

Deputies encourage anyone with information to contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask to speak with an investigator.
