Two teenagers died in a crash Friday morning in Macon, according to the Bibb County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.

One vehicle was involved, and the driver and a passenger died, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Alexander Floyd Strebeck, an 18-year-old from Forsyth, drove a Dodge pickup truck and “struck a tree” while on Zebulon Road near the intersection of Coleparchee Road, deputies and Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones said.

A 911 caller reported the incident around 2:20 a.m., deputies said.

Landon Brooks Lawless, a 17-year-old from Fort Valley, was a passenger in the truck, according to Jones.

He was “ejected” from the vehicle, Jones said.

Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley pronounced Lawless and Strebeck dead at the scene, deputies said. They died from injuries sustained in the crash.

Their families were notified of their deaths, Jones told The Telegraph.

The victims were licensed drivers, according to records from the Bibb County Coroner’s Office.

The collision was under investigation Friday morning, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies urged anyone with related information to call the sheriff’s office and ask to speak with a fatality investigator at 478-751-7500.
