A man died after his car left the road on Taylor Mill Road in Crawford County and crashed into a tree, deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a call regarding a one-vehicle crash at around 3 p.m. Wednesday, deputies said. A deputy at the scene found the driver, Bobby Eugene Willard, 61, had succumbed to his injuries. Deputy Coroner Randall Pate pronounced the driver dead, deputies said.

Willard was traveling northbound on Taylor Mill Road, but his vehicle “left the roadway and collided with a tree,” deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office said.

This case is an ongoing investigation by the Georgia State Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
