Tractor-trailers crash, shut down highway lanes in downtown Macon, deputies say
A two-vehicle crash shut down parts of a highway in downtown Macon Wednesday afternoon, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.
All lanes on Interstate 16 West were blocked around 4 p.m. and reopened just before 5 p.m., deputies said.
“It was reported that two semi-trailers collided while traveling west on I-16,” deputies said.
A 911 call reported the collision around 3:15 p.m. on I-16 West, before Exit 2 at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Coliseum Drive, a news release said.
No injuries were reported.
The lanes “will reopen soon,” deputies said just after 4 p.m.
