A TV show that filmed in Macon last year is back for more.
“The Originals,” which airs on The CW network, filmed part of its third season in Macon Wednesday.
Mulberry Street United Methodist Church is a support location for the filming.
“As I understand it, they are using our fellowship hall for extras and crew holding in between takes,” said Bill Culpepper, associate pastor for youth ministries. “I peeked in this morning and saw that they are also set up for lunch in there, so I expect to eventually see some vampires walking around.”
“The Originals” is a spin-off of the popular show, “The Vampire Diaries,” also on The CW. The series, set in New Orleans, tells the story of three siblings who are the world’s oldest vampires. Last year, an episode was filmed at the Grand Opera House downtown.
Production crews were setting up just down the street from the church on Georgia Avenue, in front of the Hay House. Macon-Bibb County spokesman Chris Floore said an event permit is on file, and a sheriff’s deputy has been sent out there to deal with any traffic issues that may arise.
A phone message left at the Hay House was not immediately returned.
Season 3 will begin airing in October, according to media reports.
