1-year-old fatally hit by mom’s SUV at home in Gray, coroner says. How it happened
A mother allegedly crashed into and killed her 1-year-old son in Gray Thursday, according to the Jones County Coroner’s Office.
The crash appeared to be an accident, Coroner Matthew E. Jarratt said.
“He was out of her line of sight,” Jarratt said. “She couldn’t have seen him.”
Carson James Evans was playing with his dad in their front yard when his mother drove a white 2019 GMC Acadia SUV into the driveway around 12:30 p.m. on Clinton Crossing Drive.
“He was off the edge of the driveway behind a bush when she came in the driveway,” Jarratt said.
No one’s facing charges related to the crash, according to an incident report from the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was still under investigation Monday afternoon.
