More than $21K raised for family of mother and daughter killed in Houston County
The family of a mother and daughter who were found dead in Houston County on Sunday have launched a GoFundMe in an effort to cover funeral expenses.
The women — 29-year-old RaDashia Boston and 49-year-old Virginia Boston — were found dead early Sunday morning in the 200 block of Woodland Trail, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office said. Deputies are investigating the deaths as a homicide.
Investigators identified 29-year-old Rashad Williams of Cordele as a person of interest, according to the sheriff’s office. He was found in an abandoned farmhouse in Worth County and detained around 4 p.m. the same day.
Williams currently faces two counts of murder, and is expected to face more charges, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office said.
The GoFundMe, which launched Monday, is seeking $26,000 to cover funeral expenses for both women and help RaDashia Boston’s 5-year-old son adjust as he goes to live with relatives. The GoFundMe had raised more than $21,500 as of Thursday morning.
“Virginia was a nurturing, joyful soul, and RaDashia was a bright light, full of love and promise,” the GoFundMe says. “Your prayers, support, and generosity mean more than words can express.”
