An earthquake in Tennessee Saturday morning caused shakes that were felt as far south as Middle Georgia, according to reports from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The 4.1-magnitude earthquake was reported near Greenback, Tennessee, but maps from the USGS show residents reported feeling the quake well into the Peach State. There were reports of minor effects in the Forsyth area. The earthquake was reported just after 8 a.m.

Based on the low-intensity reports, no damage is expected in the Middle Georgia area.

Much of North Georgia, into Atlanta, also reported feeling effects.

The area of Tennessee where the earthquake originated may have suffered light damage, according to maps from the USGS.
