Three female inmates housed in the Bibb County Jail received medical treatment on Thursday after deputies found them unresponsive, deputies confirmed Friday afternoon.

Deputies were conducting a block check Thursday evening at 11:07 p.m. when they found three female inmates unresponsive, “possibly experiencing an overdose,” said Sgt. Christopher Williams of the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Medical staff administered Narcan to the inmates and they were transported to Atrium Health Navicent by ambulance to receive medical attention.

The victims’ names were not disclosed. Deputies also did not say what they believed the women overdosed on.

The inmates were discharged from the hospital and taken back to the jail once they were in stable condition, the sheriff’s office said.

“This incident is under investigation,” Williams said.
