Elderly Macon man found

UPDATE: Hugh Smisson has been found.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Hugh Smisson, an 89-year-old white man, who went missing Friday night.

Smisson was last seen wearing a white button-up dress shirt and dark khaki pants in the 1100 block of St. Andrews Drive. A media release said he is probably driving a silver 2010 Lincoln MKX SUV with the tag number CAN9675.

Deputy Clay Williams said Smisson is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. Williams added that Smisson has early onset dementia and takes medication for seizures.

Williams said Smisson made a credit card purchase at a Flash Foods in Hazelhurst, off U.S. 341, and could possibly be headed to the Sea Island area.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500 and ask for an on-call investigator, or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
