Steak, toys, & more. Here are some Christmas giveaways are kicking off in Middle GA soon

With Christmas just a few days away, local churches and organizations in Middle Georgia are banding together to spread some holiday cheer.

Several toy drives and food distribution events in Macon and Warner Robins have already taken place, but there’s a chance for youth and families in need to join in on the season of giving.

Here’s a list of upcoming community giveaways in the area:

Bibb County

New Piney Grove Baptist Church

When: Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. (or until supplies last)

Where: 258 Straight St.

What: Attendees can drive up to the New Piney Grove Baptist Church to receive a box of food. Contact the church for more information.

B.U. Project’s Holiday Food and Clothing Drive

When: Dec 21 from noon to 3 p.m. (or while supplies last)

Where: 111 Third St.

What: The B.U. Project is hosting its 5th annual “Steak in the Community” food drive at the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Annex Building. The organization will be giving away steak dinners to families in need, as well as free clothes and coats. There will also be a holiday gift raffle.

Fall Line Church’s Christmas Outreach

When: Dec. 21, starting at 10 a.m.

Where: 2254 Rocky Creek Road

What: The Fall Line Church in Macon will be giving away toys for children ages 12 and under at its outreach event. Parents must bring school IDs, birth certificate, or proof of guardianship to register at the door, organizers say. This is a first-come-first-serve event. Contact the church for more info.

Hope 4 Healing Inc’s Christmas Gift Drive

When: Dec 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: 150 Willie Smokie Glover Drive

What: Hope 4 Healing, Inc. is hosting a holiday giveaway for the less fortunate and others in need, prioritizing the homeless first, according to organizers. Attendees may receive free clothes, shoes, hygiene products, blankets and other items. Chili, fried fish, Krispy Kreme donuts, hot chocolate and more will be served. Toy items such as dolls, coloring books and trucks will also be available. Visit the nonprofit’s Facebook page for more information.

Keyshia Cole and Friends Christmas Giveback

When: Dec 22 from noon to 2 p.m. (or until supplies last)

Where: 427 Poplar St.

What: Community members are giving away toys, clothes and shoes at the Serenity Entertainment Complex. Children must be present, according to event organizers.

Bloomfield Gilead Recreation Center’s Holiday Giveaway

When: Dec 23 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (or until supplies last)

Where: 1931 Rocky Creek Road

What: The Bloomfield Gilead Recreation Center is hosting a first-come, first-serve event, featuring free gifts for children, coats, blankets and gloves. Popcorn, hot cocoa and cookies will also be served.

Christmas Feast and Toy Giveaway

When: Dec. 24, starting at 8 a.m.

Where: 200 Cherry St.

What: The Lois Taylor Institute of Excellence is hosting its annual feast and giveaway at the terminal station on Christmas Eve. The public event will also feature wellness checks, free haircuts, reading centers, clothing giveaways and more, organizers said. Food will be served at 11 a.m.

Houston County

Attorney Josh Palmer’s Kids Christmas Giveaway

When: Dec. 21 from noon to 3 p.m.

Where: 2001 Karl Drive

What: Personal injury lawyer Joshua Palmer will host a toy giveaway at the Rigby’s Entertainment Complex, featuring entertainment, food and games. Children must be present to accept presents.

Annual Christmas Feeding

When: Dec 25, starting at 11 a.m.

Where: 213 Suzanne Drive

What: Highly Favored Ministries will host an annual Christmas feast at the Houston County NAACP Building on Christmas Day. Attendees can expect a free, hot meal. Visit the church’s Facebook page for more details.

Twiggs County

Williams Chapel CME Church Food Giveaway

When: Dec. 21, starting at 9 a.m.

Where: 181 N Railroad St.

What: The Williams Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will host a food giveaway for the Twiggs County community. Visit the church’s Facebook page for more information.

  • The Tubman African American Museum will host a Christmas Jam from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at 310 Cherry St. This kid-friendly event will feature live music, food and drinks. A Christmas surprise will be given. Admission for adults costs $10, and admission for youth ages 3-10 costs $5. Visit the museum’s website for more information.
  • The Harley-Davidson of Macon’s Christmas Party on Thursday will have free food and music, running from 6 to 8 p.m. at 5000 Mercer University Drive. Big prizes will be given away, including a $500 Harley-Davidson of Macon shopping spree. Visit the dealership’s Facebook page for more information.
  • The Historic Macon Foundation is hosting a free workshop on Friday for the public to make their own Christmas ornaments and decorations. This evening of holiday crafting will start at 6 p.m., followed by a walk over to Poplar Street to view Christmas lights. Light refreshments will be offered.
