A driver died in a three-vehicle crash Sunday at a Macon intersection, according to the Bibb County sheriff’s and coroner’s offices.

Deputies were dispatched regarding a traffic accident around midnight Sunday to Pio Nono Avenue and Eisenhower Parkway, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

A white Honda Civic was reportedly heading south on Pio Nono then struck two vehicles on Eisenhower including a black Chevrolet Equinox heading east and a blue Honda Accord heading west, deputies said.

The driver of the Honda Civic, Demarco Marquis Beasley, 35, was taken to Atrium Health Navicent where he died from “blunt force trauma” about an hour after the crash, Coroner Leon Jones said. Family was notified of Beasley’s death.

The Honda Accord driver was taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition, the sheriff’s office confirmed.

The Chevrolet driver was “checked by paramedics on scene and released,” deputies said in the news release.

Investigators was still working to determine what caused the incident Monday morning. Anyone with information about the crash was urged to call the sheriff’s office at 478-751-7500.
