NewTown Macon seeks to cover education costs for children of the late CEO, president
NewTown Macon has launched a fund to cover education costs for the children of Josh Rogers, the NewTown Macon CEO and president who died suddenly Sunday at 42 years old.
The fund, called the Jack and Ellie Rogers Education Fund, was announced by NewTown Macon Board of Directors Chair William D. Underwood Tuesday morning. It’s named after Rogers’ children, 10-year-old Jack and 7-year-old Ellie. Rogers also is survived by his wife, Meaghan.
“Throughout his tenure at NewTown, Josh’s commitment to revitalizing the heart of Macon extended beyond his professional endeavors and encompassed his family,” NewTown Macon said in a news release. “As he once said, ‘My commitment to downtown and NewTown is a really special one that involves my whole family.’”
NewTown board members will contribute to the fund, and welcome contributions from community members, NewTown Macon said.
Those interested in contributing can find more information on NewTown Macon’s website.
Newtown Macon also confirmed details about Rogers’ memorial service. It will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in Willingham Hall’s Toney Auditorium on Mercer University’s campus.
