Woman in critical condition after train hits SUV stuck on tracks, Macon deputies say
A woman was severely injured after a train crashed into her SUV in Macon on Friday, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.
A 911 call made at 2:35 p.m. told dispatchers there was a collision on Tucker and Forsyth roads, deputies said in a news release.
“Witnesses reported that the train crossing gate came down on the vehicle,” the news release said.
The 76-year-old driver was stuck on the tracks when the train hit the SUV.
She was taken to a medical facility for treatment of injuries and was listed in critical condition around 4 p.m., deputies said. The incident was still under investigation.
