Where to find free or affordable Thanksgiving meals in Macon, Middle Georgia
With Thanksgiving near, many people are making plans to share a feast with friends and family at home. But may be struggling to find a hot meal ahead of the big day.
Several local businesses, nonprofits and community groups around Macon are filling the gap with free and low cost meals for those in need.
Here are some options if you are looking for where to go this Turkey Day.
Forrest B. Johnson & Associates
What: Law office Forrest B. Johnson & Associates will be giving out a total of 1200 hot meals at four different locations in Macon. Each location will hand out 300 meals.

What: Rescue Mission of Middle Georgia, a nonprofit in Macon, will be giving out and delivering about 1,500 meals.

Piedmont Brewery & Kitchen
What: Piedmont Brewery is taking orders for Thanksgiving meals. Several meats and sides are available, and a 5-pound turkey costs $30. Orders should be submitted to melissa@piedmontbrewery.com.

S&S Cafeterias
What: S&S Cafeterias will be taking orders for Thanksgiving meals. Combination dinners are available, as well as individual items. A sliced roast turkey sells for $12. The Riverside Drive location is still closed, so orders will be taken at the Bloomfield Village location.
