One person was killed in a car crash in West Macon Tuesday, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

The crash occurred near Tucker and Foster roads, Jones told The Telegraph.

Two cars were involved in the crash, which happened just after 2 p.m., officials said.

Robert Wayne Howard died at the site of the wreck, according to the sheriff’s office. He was 66.

A 22-year-old woman was also injured and taken to a hospital. She was in stable condition, officials said Tuesday afternoon.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department were at the scene of the wreck more than an hour after the incident, and a badly-damaged car was towed away around 3:30 p.m.
