Two inmates at Central State Prison in Macon overdosed Saturday, with one being revived and the other dying, according to Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones.

Thomas Kiker, 49, died as a result of the overdose. It was unclear Monday what drug caused his overdose. Kiker’s autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday, but results would likely take months.

The inmate who survived the overdose was revived with Narcan and was being treated at Atrium Health Center in Macon, Jones said Monday.

The Georgia Department of Corrections didn’t respond to request for comment prior to publication.

Kiker was serving a 20-year prison sentence on child molestation and false imprisonment charges, according to the GDC.
