Motorcyclist dead after a crash in Macon, investigators say. Victim identified.

A man is dead after a crash Sunday involving a motorcycle on Pio Nono Avenue, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s office.

Reports said a Chevrolet Malibu collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of Pio Nono Avenue and Sherry Drive.

The driver of the motorcycle, 61-year-old Lorenso Poole, was taken to Atrium Navicent Health were he later died from his injuries, according to officials.

Deputies said the next of kin had been notified by the coroner’s office.

The circumstances surrounding the incident were still under investigation Tuesday. More information was expected to be released as it became available.
