Census: Where you live (interactive graphic)

The Telegraph took data from the 2000 Census, 2010 Census and USA Today to look at how population changed in census tracts, which are typically neighborhoods of several thousand people. The data was further crunched in PostgreSQL and combined with Census Bureau geography files through Google Fusion Tables.



The Telegraph looked at Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jones, Monroe, Peach and Twiggs counties. Because of technological limitations, the number of census tracts (and therefore the number of counties) had to be restricted. Click on the shaded areas of the map below for detailed census information.

Purple are population losses. Green are gains.Darker colors show a more serious effect.
