Zaxby’s brings back fan-favorite item after 7 years — but only in Macon. What to know
A Zaxby’s fan favorite was missing from menus for seven years, and now it’s back.
Customers can get it in only one Georgia city, however.
Zaxby’s milkshakes returned exclusively in Macon, Georgia, the fast food chain announced in a Feb. 27 news release. The “sweet comeback” is part of a limited-market test in “The Heart of Georgia,” the chain said.
The hand-spun shakes are available in four flavors:
- Vanilla
- Chocolate
- Strawberry
- Birthday Cake
Customers have reported also finding the shakes in surrounding cities including Warner Robins, Dublin and Perry.
It’s not clear if there are plans to make the treats available nationwide.
Zaxby’s said it teamed up with Visit Macon to encourage travelers to explore the “hidden gems, iconic landmarks, and storied history” of the city, nestled about 80 miles southeast of Atlanta.
“The return of Zaxby’s milkshakes is an exciting development for Macon,” Mayor Lester Miller said in the release. “We’re thrilled to have Zaxby’s be part of Team Macon-Bibb and showcase our city as the ultimate destination for milkshake lovers.”
